Pregnancy week by week
A 25-week pregnant woman experiences a number of changes in her body as the pregnancy develops week by week. This article will give you information about certain problems that women may face at this stage and what can be done to solve them.
- Mother’s body: Most women at this stage experience hemorrhoids as the increasing size of the uterus and more blood flow to that area exerts pressure on the rectum causing the veins to itch and swell. They can be painful and hence one should eat fiber-rich food and do pelvic exercises to ease the pressure. But on the positive side, your hair will be more lustrous and your skin will be glowing due to pregnancy hormones
- Baby’s body: The baby grows fast from this stage onwards and is almost nine inches long now. Its capillaries are forming and are getting filled with blood. Its lungs are developing as the air sacs appear and it will take its first breath soon. The nostrils will open up and vocal chords also develop
The mother may experience have some problems at this stage of the pregnancy like varicose veins which occur due to the pressure caused by extra volume of blood in the blood vessels causing them to swell. Some women also experience restless leg syndrome where there is an urge to move the legs. There may be pain in the pelvic area as the ligaments stretch. Consult your doctor if the pain is severe or continue doing Kegel exercises.
In order to tackle these problems, the following tips may be followed:
- Oral hygiene is very important for you and the health of the baby. Brush regularly and don’t eat hard food to avoid bleeding gums
- Avoid wearing tight clothes so that you put less pressure on your limbs
